Conveniently located between The Adirondack Mountains and The Champlain Valley, DaCy Meadow Farm is a great basecamp for you to enjoy outdoor adventures in the Northeast’s preeminent wilderness. We have decades of experience hosting adventure travelers and understand what you are looking for in lodging facilities. We can steer you in the right direction, and have a hot shower, farm to table food, and a comfortable bed ready when you return. We are ready to fully support your adventure with trail lunches, shuttles, guidance, places to clean and dry your equipment and gear, and comfortable areas to relax and share your experience with like minded folks. All uniquely situated on a beautiful, working farm.
CATS Trail
Your adventure on DaCy Meadow Farm doesn’t have to include a car drive. We have over three miles of marked, maintained walking trails on the farm. Working with CATS, the Champlain Area Trail System, we have designed the trails to wander through a variety of habitats and for visitors and guests of every fitness level. Stroll by brooks and wetlands, through forests, past our grazing livestock in the pastures, or to a scenic overlook of The Champlain Valley. It all begins just a few feet from your lodging.
Hiking
The Adirondack Mountains, what more need be said ? The largest wilderness east of the Mississippi, challenging summits, thousands of pristine lakes, six million acres of hiking, a national treasure all an easy drive from DaCy Meadow Farm. Looking for something a little tamer ? The Champlain Valley has hundreds of miles of hiking trails often wonderfully less traveled. Whether you’re a beginner or someone well on your way to becoming a 46r, we pride ourselves on providing everything a hiker needs to be safe and have a memorable hiking vacation. Drawing on our experience on the Appalachian Trail, hiking around the country and world, owning a backpacker hostel, and our intimate familiarity with The Adirondacks, we love being part of the hiking community. The thing we enjoy the most ? Listening to guests sharing the story of their day or days hiking with equal amounts of exhaustion and exhilaration. Need the perfect basecamp ? DaCy Meadow Farm is the place.
Biking
Looking for miles of maintained single track or quiet country roads for a road ride ? You can enjoy both biking experiences while staying at DaCy Meadow Farm. The Blueberry Mountain and Otis Mountain mountain bike trails are fifteen minutes away. You can head out from the farm on the rolling hills and well-maintained roads of The Champlain Valley. Just tell us what you’re looking for and we’ll send you in the right direction. When you get back we have a shop area to do some routine maintenance and a wash station for fat tire riders. We are only two miles from The Empire State Trail, a soon to be completed 750 miles road bike trail from New York City to the Canadian border and Buffalo to Albany. We can pick you and your bike up at the Westport Amtrak station and shuttle you to nearby locations while your staying with us.
Climbing
Rock or ice , climbers are welcome at DaCy Meadow Farm. Chapel Pond and the Cascade Notch are less than thirty minutes away. Poke-O-Moonshine is two exits north on I-87. At the end of the day, we’ll have some farm to table food, a hot shower and comfortable bed ready when you return. We also have places to hang and dry your gear to get ready for the next day. Sometimes you just are too tired to sleep in your pickup and too hungry to eat another peanut butter sandwich. We’ve got you covered.
Birding
If you’re traveling through the area working on your life list, DaCy Meadow Farm is a great place to stay. With a wide variety of habitats on our hiking trails, Lake Champlain two miles away, and The Adirondacks a few miles to the west, the opportunities for birders are interesting and varied. We’re open year round and enjoy hearing about what species you see on your outings around the table enjoying a farm to table meal in The Localvore Gallery and restaurant.
